Accounts and Payroll Assistant
Location: Axminster
We are currently recruiting for an Accounts and Payroll Assistant to join a friendly and growing team based in Axminster. This is an excellent opportunity for someone with previous accounts and payroll experience who is looking to develop their career within a supportive environment.
The successful candidate will ideally hold an AAT Level 3 qualification. Candidates studying towards AAT Level 4 will also be considered, although we are not seeking applicants with qualifications above this level. We are also very happy to consider candidates who are qualified by experience.
Key Responsibilities:
- Processing weekly and monthly payroll
- Managing payroll queries and maintaining accurate records
- Assisting with accounts payable and accounts receivable
- Bank reconciliations
- Processing invoices and payments
- Assisting with month-end duties
- Supporting the wider finance team with administrative tasks
- Maintaining accurate financial records and spreadsheets
Key Requirements:
- Previous experience within an accounts and payroll position
- Good understanding of payroll processes
- AAT Level 3 preferred, or qualified by experience
- Strong attention to detail and organisational skills
- Confident communication skills
- Good working knowledge of Microsoft Office, particularly Excel
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team
