Accounts Assistant (AAT Qualified)

We’re delighted to be recruiting on behalf of a well-established and expanding accountancy practice in Tiverton that is looking to add an AAT-qualified Accounts Assistant to its friendly, close-knit team.
This is an excellent opportunity for someone with previous practice experience who is keen to build on their existing knowledge within a supportive environment that genuinely values progression and long-term career development.
The Role
You’ll enjoy a varied and hands-on position, including:

Preparing accounts for sole traders, partnerships and limited companies

Bookkeeping and bank reconciliations

Preparing and submitting VAT returns

Supporting clients with day-to-day queries and building strong relationships
-
Assisting senior team members and managers across the wider accounts function
This role offers real exposure across a broad client base, allowing you to strengthen both your technical skills and client-facing confidence.
About You

AAT qualified (or finalist with strong relevant experience)

Previous experience within an accountancy practice

Confident using Xero, Sage or similar cloud-based software

Strong attention to detail with good organisational skills

A proactive, team-focused attitude and genuine desire to continue learning
