Accounts Senior/Executive
Location: Swindon, Wiltshire
Position: Full time, Permanent
Salary: £21,000 - £25,000 DOE

We are recruiting on behalf of a forwarded thinking and progressive firm of accountants and business advisors who are committed to providing a high quality accounting service across a broad range of practice areas.
Reporting into the Accounts and Assurance Manager
Overview of the role
- To provide professional and efficient technical processing, support & advice on the collation and reporting of financial statements across a broad client base from sole traders to limited companies, ensuring adherence to deadlines and processing budgets.
- Responsible for supporting the Assurance & Accounts Manager and the Directors with a growing portfolio of clients, covering bookkeeping, management accounts, statutory accounts, corporation tax and personal tax.
- The role involves a consistently high standard of professional and ethical practice working within growing team in a fast paced environment.
KEY COMPETENCIES/REQUIREMENTS
- Part qualified ACCA or equivalent experience, AAT minimum
- Accountancy practice experience essential, at least 18 months
- Strong attention to detail
- Highly organised & able to work semi-autonomously
- Ability to mentor junior members of staff
- Confident communicator – provide advice and support to the wider client base and communicate with the management team
- Indications of more specific duties/requirements under particular headings include the following:
Accounts
- Prepare annual statutory accounts for limited companies (FRS105/FRS102 s1a), sole trader and partnership clients
- Prepare monthly or quarterly management accounts for clients
- Ensure appropriate standards are maintained for all aspects of work and involvement with clients
Business Development
- Positively embrace new ideas for expanding the company's business and improving efficiencies
- Use knowledge to ensure client needs are met and identify opportunities for the company's marketing strategy
- Identify opportunities to provide additional service/work for existing clients/other internal teams and to gain new business where possible
Commercial
- Recognise how the team’s work contributes to revenue generation and the company’s profits.
- Ensure compliance work deadlines are met
- Efficiently use whatever resources are available
Key Accountabilities:
- Preparation & production of financial statements from collation and processing to report and analysis
- Preparation of management accounts
- Ensure timely presentation of accounts within budget and to annual/periodic deadlines.
- Contribute to mentoring, training & supervision of trainee employees including overseeing progress of delegated tasks
- Prepare corporation tax computations, and providing support to our personal tax department where required.
- Contribute to client meetings and provide timely response to client requests for support & advice
- Contribute to development of internal procedures and work flow efficiencies
