Autograph Recruitment are working with a progressive Chartered Certified Accountancy Practice looking to add an Accounts Senior to their growing team based in Surrey.
The Role
- Prepare monthly financial statements, reports, and records by collecting, analysing, and summarizing account information from clients, including from incomplete records
- Produce complete accounts, management accounts and tax computations for limited companies, landlords, sole traders, partnerships as per FRS 105 and FRS 102
- Responsible for the general ledger of all allocated clients
- Fixed asset processing and reporting of all allocated clients
- Maintain bank accounts – records on all allocated clients
- Research and reconcile all discrepancies on client’s data and from junior members of the team
- Financial and profitability analysis on a requested basis (monthly, weekly)
- Produce business plans when required using the company’s software tools
- Tax planning and R&D Tax Credits eligibility – assessment to all firm’s clients
- Self-assessment and tax planning for individuals
- Capital gains tax calculation and planning
- Expatriate tax for individuals and corporate
- R&D report draft and review, costs and project justification, R&D claims (RDEC and SME R&D relief), drafting documents for HMRC review.
- VAT returns for business within UK and cross border
- Property taxes, CIS returns and compliance, ATED and stamp duty land tax, interest deduction…
- Compliance and planning: wills, lifetime transfer, additional tax on death, BPR and APR relief…
- Trust rules: trust options, trust tax return, offshore income gain (OIG), tax advice to the Settlers and Beneficiaries (desirable, but not necessary).
- Planning, assigning and directing work in respect of VAT, PAYE, Accounts and Tax Return Production
- Coaching and appraising performance of junior members of the team.
- Addressing complaints and resolving problems
The Successful applicant:
- Must have at least 3 years Practice experience.
- Accountancy Qualification is NOT a must, but 3 years experience is!
- Have a mixed workload of accounts and tax
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills (including over the phone)
- Strong Computer Skills, including 2-3 years experience on QuickBooks and Tax Calc
- Accuracy in daily work and other projects.
- Ability to meet communicated schedules and deadlines.
- Adherence to policies, procedures and instructions of the Manager of Financial Reporting.
- Ability to function as a team player
