Client Manager – Bristol

You will be joining an award-winning accountancy practice with a well-established office in Clifton, working as part of a friendly and supportive team. Due to a long-serving team member retiring, an exciting opportunity has arisen for an experienced Client Manager to take over an established and loyal portfolio of clients, with a full handover available to ensure a smooth transition.
This is an excellent opportunity for someone who enjoys building strong relationships, delivering exceptional client service and acting as a trusted advisor to owner-managed businesses and individuals. You'll work closely with Partners and the wider team, managing your own portfolio while supporting and developing junior members of staff.

You will:
- Manage a portfolio of clients, acting as their main point of contact
- Review year-end accounts and oversee the preparation of management accounts
- Review corporation tax returns and liaise with the tax team where required
- Provide proactive advice and support to clients on a range of accounting and business matters
- Build and maintain strong, long-term relationships with clients
- Manage workflow and ensure deadlines are met
- Support, mentor and review the work of junior team members
- Work closely with Partners to identify opportunities to add value to clients
- Maintain high standards of client service and compliance
You will ideally have:
- ACA or ACCA qualification, although qualified by experience (QBE) candidates will also be considered
- Previous experience managing a portfolio of clients within an accountancy practice
- Strong technical knowledge of accounts preparation and corporation tax
- Excellent communication and relationship-building skills
- The ability to manage multiple priorities and work effectively to deadlines
- Experience reviewing the work of junior staff and providing support where needed
- Knowledge of cloud accounting software such as Xero and QuickBooks would be advantageous
- A proactive and client-focused approach
