Accounts Manager

The Opportunity

An exciting opportunity has arisen for an experienced Accounts Manager to join an established and growing accountancy practice based in Saltash.

This is a fantastic opportunity for an experienced accounts professional to take responsibility for a varied client portfolio, build strong client relationships and play an important role within the practice.

The successful candidate will have a strong background in accountancy practice, with the ability to manage client accounts, oversee workloads and support the development of more junior team members.

Key Responsibilities

• Managing a portfolio of clients, including limited companies, sole traders and partnerships.

• Preparing and reviewing statutory accounts and financial statements.

• Overseeing management accounts and financial reporting.

• Preparing and reviewing VAT returns and tax computations.

• Providing advice and support to clients on accounting and financial matters.

• Building and maintaining strong client relationships.

• Reviewing work completed by junior members of the team.

• Supporting and mentoring junior colleagues.

• Managing deadlines and ensuring work is completed accurately and efficiently.

• Identifying opportunities to improve processes and deliver an excellent client service.

About You

• ACA, ACCA or AAT qualified.

• Previous experience working within an accountancy practice.

• Strong experience preparing and reviewing accounts for a varied client portfolio.

• Good knowledge of accounts preparation, VAT and taxation.

• Confident managing client relationships and handling queries.

• Strong organisational skills and the ability to manage competing deadlines.

• Able to work independently while contributing positively to the wider team.

• Experience supervising or reviewing the work of junior colleagues would be advantageous.
