Our client is a well-established, reputable business based in Caerphilly who are currently growing at a rapid rate. Operating within the construction industry, they offer specialist services to a range of customers. Their current, and planned growth is due to their success in winning new contracts.
To support this continued growth, they are looking to recruit a Commercial Assistant. This is an exciting, brand-new role that will report to the Commercial Director.
Principle purpose of the role:
As Commercial Assistant you will take ownership and manage tender enquiries and PQQ’S by creating well worded tender submissions and detailed reports.
The role:
- Responsible for creating a detailed, technical, persuasive proposals
- Write high quality bid responses for new tenders
- Introducing and co-ordinating the bid response process, developing, and maintaining a knowledge base of 'standard' answers and templates
- Identifying ways to improve the quality, consistency, and efficiency of the bid response process
- Liaise with other teams and senior stakeholders to ensure submissions are made on time and to the required quality
- Develop knowledge of the business, its products, and services by reading and review previous bid and design documents and spending time with presales, technical and commercial functions
- Develop computer-based document store and reference materials
- Use internal CRM in order to capture all bid progress and activity
The successful candidate:
It would be great if you have some knowledge of how a commercial function within a business and some exposure to the construction industry. However, we are keen to receive applications from candidates who have strong writing and reporting skills, possibly recently graduated and looking to start your career. You will have effective interpersonal skills with ability to build rapport with customers both external and internal and, naturally, possess a high level of computer skills, in particular Microsoft Office.
