Construction Buyer
Job Type: Full time, Permanent
Location: Newport
Salary: Up to £30,000
Autograph Recruitment are working with a large, growing self storage business based in Newport to recruit for a Construction Buyer. The purpose of this role is to procure goods and services in order to continue the expansion of new stores across the UK. You will develop strong relationships with suppliers and deliver efficient procurement services on all future construction projects. You will be reporting to the General Manager and the Managing Director, working closely with the project management team to coordinate the execution of the projects.
Responsibilities:
- Procurement of materials, services and sub-contractor packages.
- Negotiating rates with suppliers.
- Creating procurement schedules.
- Preparing competitive tender packages.
- Identify cost saving opportunities.
- Identify potential new supplies, products and services at the best prices.
Requirements:
- At least 3 years buying experience within the construction industry.
- Strong negotiation skills.
- Confidence and ability using MS office.
- Strong analytical skills.
- Written and verbal communication skills.
- Knowledge and understanding of the commercial construction industry.
