Materials Manager
Location: Avonmouth
Position: Full time, Permanent
Salary: Up to £40,000

Our client is now recruiting for a Materials Manager to join their journey in achieving sustainable growth through product innovation. This position will be based on in their office in Avonmouth, overseeing site supply chain operations. This means being responsible for ordering of materials and planning of goods.

Responsibilities of Materials Manager:
- Planning and scheduling deliveries and production to achieve targeted stock levels, ensuring immaculate customer service levels
- Effectively manage orders and controlling stock
- Report on any slow moving stock and delivery performance from suppliers
- Bring new ideas to improve processes, policies and procedures
- Manage the agreed preferred supplier list, working with the Group Directors to support cost savings on raw materials
- Order and manage stock of PPE, consumables and other hygiene products needed on site
- Work closely with the Shift Manager and Logistics team to streamline supply and minimise downtime
- Review and set target stock levels using sales and forecast data
- Create daily goods plans, monitoring performance, stock and downtime of the factory to maintain suitable planning based on history, trends and demand
- Ensure any third party logistic and supply contracts are accurate
The Ideal Candidate:
- Previous experience within a material controller or scheduling position
- Commercially minded
- Experience and in-depth knowledge with ordering of packaging
- Food production experience would be desirable
- Work to deadlines, in a timely manor, being able to prioritise workload
- Excellent IT skills, being proficient across Microsoft platforms and Sage softwares
- Personable, analytic with the ability to work within a team and challenge the norm
