Senior Payroll Administrator

A well-established and growing professional services business is looking for an experienced Senior Payroll Administrator to join its busy payroll team.
The role will involve managing a portfolio of outsourced payroll clients across a range of sectors, with a particular focus on supporting the continued growth of NHS and medical payrolls.
The Role
You will take a senior role within the payroll team, managing payrolls from start to finish and acting as a key point of contact for clients.
You will work closely with clients to understand their payroll requirements, provide advice on payroll processes and statutory changes, and ensure payrolls are processed accurately and on time.
Key Responsibilities
- Processing multiple client payrolls across different frequencies.
- Managing payroll from start to finish, including RTI and HMRC reporting.
- Processing pensions, deductions and statutory payments.
- Producing payslips and ensuring accurate payroll records.
- Advising clients on payroll legislation and statutory changes.
- Managing and developing strong client relationships.
- Supporting the wider payroll team and sharing knowledge and best practice.
- Working with NHS and medical clients where required.
About You
We are looking for an experienced payroll professional with:
- Strong end-to-end payroll experience, ideally within an outsourced payroll bureau or accountancy practice.
- Experience managing multiple payrolls and clients.
- NHS or public sector payroll experience is highly desirable.
- Excellent knowledge of RTI, HMRC requirements, pensions and statutory payments.
- Strong attention to detail and excellent organisational skills.
- Confident communication and client-facing skills.
- Good IT and payroll software experience.
Experience with IRIS Payroll Professional, PayCircle and Xero would be advantageous, although training can be provided on specific systems.
