We are currently working with a well-established and growing accountancy and advisory group is seeking an experienced Tax Senior Manager to join it's South Wales team. This opportunity is suited to a technically strong tax professional who enjoys providing strategic tax advice, supporting complex advisory work, and mentoring high-performing teams.
The successful candidate will play a key role in delivering expert guidance across a varied client portfolio, supporting tax risk management, and contributing to the ongoing development of technical knowledge within the wider business.
Key Responsibilities
- Provide high-level technical tax expertise across business tax matters.
- Lead, manage, and mentor a team of tax professionals.
- Support clients and internal stakeholders with tax planning, compliance, and risk mitigation strategies.
- Monitor legislative and regulatory tax developments and communicate implications effectively.
- Deliver technical training and guidance across teams.
- Support advisory projects, compliance reviews, and tax dispute matters.
- Collaborate with wider business functions including legal and finance teams.
- Manage a portfolio of clients, delivering commercially focused tax advice and insights.
Requirements
- CTA, ACA, ACCA, ATT or equivalent professional qualification.
- Strong technical knowledge of UK tax legislation.
- Experience managing and developing tax teams.
- Excellent analytical, research, and report-writing skills.
- Ability to explain complex tax concepts clearly to clients and colleagues.
- Experience working with owner-managed businesses and entrepreneurial clients.
- Commercial awareness with strong client relationship management skills.
- Ability to manage multiple projects in a fast-paced environment.
- Proactive approach to keeping up to date with tax developments.
Additional Skills
- Strong organisational skills and attention to detail.
- Confident using tax software and Microsoft Office.
- Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills.
- Ability to work independently while contributing effectively within a collaborative team environment.
