In addition to having experienced significant growth over the last 24 months, they are also embarking on an exciting and transformational change within the business as they introduce new processes and systems to the business. This will impact how the Supply Chain function operates and, they are looking for an ambitious Shift Manager to take full ownership for the day-to-day operation of the DC shop floor operation, on the PM shift.
The role:
As part of the leadership team you will full accountability for your shift and your colleagues. You will give exceptional; service delivery to customers, both internally and externally, and motivate, reward and develop team members.
You will:
- Carry out all areas of people management including recruitment, 121’s, performance management and capability reviews
- Manage resources and assets, planning work allocation to maximise efficiency and ensure operational success
- Work with the DC/Logistics leadership team to identify ways of motivating your team, ensuring praise and recognition where due is celebrated and encouraged
- Maintain high visibility on the shop floor daily and actively engage with the team on a professional level, ensuring you always treat team members with dignity and respect
- Deal with staff conflict as and when required in a professional manner in line with company expectations and company values
- Take ownership for the Health and Safety of your teams and the DC environment in accordance with legislation and company policies
- Ensure efficient operational and financial performance through effective leadership and management, within company guidelines and agreed budget
- Manage any daily pick requirements / allocations or other administrative work allocation duties relevant to the department you are managing
- Monitor staff performance against KPIs ensuring KPI targets are met consistently
The successful candidate:
An experienced team manager, you will be used to working in an environment where people are the most important asset. You will be a role model for your team, promoting appropriate behaviours and encouraging an inclusive working environment.
You will be an excellent communicator and have the ability to influence others. Your continuous improvement mindset and willingness to be flexible, will mean that you will be results oriented and deadline driven. You’ll have good planning, organisation and decision-making skills. Due to the environment, you will also have health and safety awareness.
