In addition to having experienced significant growth over the last 18 months, they are also embarking on an exciting and transformational change within the business as they introduce new processes and systems to the business. This will impact how the Supply Chain function operates and, they are looking for a talented and highly motivated Supply Chain & Transport Manager to lead the team and to ensure timely receipt of stock into the business and outbound transport to the final mile customer. This is a 2-year FTC, initially, as the current Supply Chain & Transport Manager is seconded to work on the systems implementation as they move to integrating onto Dynamics 365.
The role:
You will work closely with supply chain partners to track and monitor inbound shipments, proactively notifying the appropriate stakeholders of any potential issue. The role requires a close working relationship with the inbound DC and merchandise teams, supporting inbound scheduling and prioritising shipments, as necessary. From an outbound perspective you will be the main operational contact for all outbound deliver partners. This will involve regular supplier meetings, benchmarking, cost appraisals as well as advising internally on appropriate service providers based on cost and transit time.
To be proactively aware of global supply chains, trade compliance and understand appropriate use of domestic and international providers for most efficient delivery solution to the business.
You will manage and develop a team to support your main tasks and the wider business. As a business professional you will take responsibility and lead and develop your business area to meet the demands of new markets and opportunities.
You will be aware of incoterms, general trade compliance and stay abreast of market updates in relation to shipping and market conditions.
The successful candidate:
The successful candidate will have experience in a similar supply chain role with experience in global supply chain routing, incoterms, and transport management systems. You will have experience of transport suppliers from fast parcel carriers to freight solutions, along with detailed knowledge of AX/ERP systems. You will also have the ability to work on multiple projects simultaneously.
