A well-established accountancy practice in Newport is looking to appoint a Tax Manager to take ownership of and develop the tax function within the practice.
This is a newly created senior opportunity where you will have the autonomy to shape the tax offering, work closely with the Directors and become a key point of contact for clients on a wide range of tax matters.
The role can be offered on either a full-time or part-time basis, with flexibility around hours and working arrangements.
You will be…

Taking ownership of the practice's tax function and developing the tax offering

Overseeing personal and corporate tax compliance, VAT returns and wider tax reporting

Acting as the main point of contact for HMRC, including dealing with enquiries

Providing tax planning and advisory support to a varied portfolio of clients

Working directly with business owners to identify tax efficiencies and opportunities
-
Keeping up to date with changes in UK tax legislation and advising clients accordingly
-
Translating complex tax legislation into clear, practical advice for clients

Working closely with the Directors
About you…
-
Ideally CTA qualified, or working towards the qualification – study support will be considered
-
5+ years' experience within UK tax, ideally covering corporate, personal tax and VAT
-
Strong technical knowledge of UK tax legislation
-
Comfortable dealing directly with clients, business owners and HMRC

Commercially minded with the ability to identify tax planning opportunities
-
Confident communicator who can explain complex tax matters clearly
-
Experienced using tax/accounting software
